Editing is a labour of love…
This is one of my favourite sketches from that year, but not for the reasons you might expect. It came together really smoothly, one of those rare shoots where everything just kind of clicks, and it came out (at least for me) just as funny as I’d hoped.
For a little context, the YouTube Creator Space in London used to spend thousands of pounds building seasonal film sets for people to use in the large studio. In October 2012 they built a spooky abandoned dentist’s office, complete with metal chair and pointy instruments, for Halloween. This is NOT what they were hoping people would use it for, and we basically didn’t show ANY of the actual set.
We used the lights though, and hired Emma Pickles to do incredible make-up that made me look like a ‘tired crusty pervert vampire’ (the exact words I used to explain what I wanted), and because it was there we shot on a Canon C100. As a result Final Cut Porn looks so much more dynamic and cinematic than any of my other videos from around that time…
