Instead of a bonus episode of Goodnight Rita I wanted to put together a short introduction to Frank Capra, because his work is so important and relevant to everything else we’ve talked about on the channel so far… Harold Ramis was directly inspired by It’s A Wonderful Life when making Groundhog Day. The Truman Show borrows from Capra in its vision of Seahaven, as well as Jim Carrey’s performance being informed by his love of James Stewart… Frank Capra’s influence is everywhere in modern American cinema.
