A zero-budget music video I directed for Dancing Lotus & Elliott Morris in 2012 starring Khyan Mansley, Lex Croucher, and myself. It tells a simple ‘grass is greener’ fable about a repressed office worker who daydreams to escape his mundane life.
Prolific camera op Ciaran O’Brien was tapped for DOP and he also helped connect us with a small office location in Bath. We shot everything there in a single day to save on travel, with one pickup shoot for the rooftop the following week. By my standards now the film’s colour is weakest, and I would probably block it very differently if I had the chance again. But the story, the performances, and the overall pacing still make me happy.
